On Sunday 26th April, 14 members of the Indoor Bowls took part in the OBE (Over Bloody Eighty) event. The event played over two games of 8 ends was followed by a devonshire tea.

We congratulate all members who took part. Special mention to Stan Warnock who will turn 90 this year. Well done to the luckier bowlers on the day - Vern Elliot (Third), Norice Tonkin (Second) and Russell Fox (Winner).

2nd of February 2009

The S.S. & A. Indoor Bowls hosted the "Interclub Challenge" event over the the weekend of 31 Jan / 01 Feb. The challenge consisted of 64 bowlers playing 9 games over the two days. We had teams from S.S. & A., Wodonga, Lavington, Corowa, Mulwala, Wangaratta, Griffiths, Leeton, Forbes and Melbourne.

Competition was quite fierce with any one of four teams being able to win with two games to go.

In the end, the team of Janne Perrett, Fran Elliot, Kath Williams and Vern Elliot won the event with 8 wins. Melbourne Team 1 skippered by Bob Constable were the runners up.

The competition was played in great spirit and the weekend was quite successful due to the support from the Elaine McLeod and the SS&A Kitchen staff, despite a fire alarm and partial evacuation during the last game.
