Golf Club

wod_clubhouseLocated on the outskirts of town, SS&A Wodonga is a haven for golfers, with outstanding greens and fantastic views. Come down and you'll find that it quickly becomes "Your Favourite Place".

Established at the current site, and officially opened in 1982, the Golf Club has been one the cornerstones of Wodonga's tourism industry in the region for many years.

wod_courseFeatures include and 18 hole golf course, bowling greens and Pro Shop, as well as a newly renovated, modern style clubhouse. The clubhouse was officially re-opened on Friday, 16th of November, 2007.

The historical merger of Wodonga Country Club with SS&A Albury, was one of the most unusual relationships within the registered club industry, in that the Murray River separates the two entities. With the backing of the SS&A Albury and it's resources, the last few years has seen a period of unprecedented growth and prosperity.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING

NOTICE is hereby given that a Special General Meeting of the SS&A Wodonga Golf Club Incorporated (A0050134J) will be held in the Club premises, 10 Club House Place, Wodonga, Victoria, at 10.00am on Sunday 31 January 2010.

AGENDA
The business of the Special General Meeting will be to consider and if thought fit pass the Special Resolution set out below.

SPECIAL RESOLUTION
That, in accordance with section 33 of the Associations Incorporations Act 1981, the SS&A Wodonga Golf Club Incorporated (A0050134J) be voluntarily wound up.

Explanatory Note regarding Special Resolution
1. At the SS&A Wodonga Golf Club Incorporated (the “Golf Club”) Annual General Meeting held on Sunday, 29 November 2009 there were no appointments made for any of the positions on the vacant Committee of the Golf Club. Technically this leaves the Golf Club with no management.

2. Due to the inability to find persons to act as members of the Committee of the Golf Club, it is recommended that the Golf Club call a Special General Meeting of its members to consider a resolution to voluntarily wind up the legal entity of the Golf Club, with the intention that its management role be taken over by the Albury SS&A Club.

3. The Albury SS&A Club’s Board and Management would assume the responsibility for the running of all the golf activities of the Golf Club.

Procedural Matters in Relation to the proposed Special Resolution

1. All Full Members, Seven Day Members and Life members, who have paid all their membership fees are entitled to attend and vote on the Special Resolution.
2. To be passed, the Special Resolution must receive votes in its favour from not less than a three-quarters majority (75%) of those members who being eligible to do so, vote in person at the meeting.
3. Consistent with section 249 of the Corporations Act 2001, the Special Resolution must be considered as a whole and cannot be altered by motions from the floor of the meeting.
4. Proxy voting is specifically prohibited by the Clubs Rules
5. The Committee of the Club recommends that members vote in favour of the Special Resolution.
